Dnow Weekend Part 1

This weekend was DNOW for our youth at church. We had such a busy weekend! Part of the community outreach this year is having the kids go to local neighborhoods and collect non-perishable food items for a local pantry. We choose to canvas our neighborhood this year. And, because we're planners and because we wanted to bring in the most items, we put together a plan...

My mom, Chris and I made these bags with a letter attached to them that explained DNOW and what we were collecting. We spread them all over my neighborhood (about 150 homes) and asked that the neighbors fill them and leave them outside for us to pickup. It worked out well...but you'll have to wait to see how well in the next post.

Lori and Charles, Chris' mom and stepdad, drove in from Tulsa to help support our group. We also celebrated Charles' birthday a little early. B wanted to help him open his gift!

Clemency was this years performer...the kids really enjoyed them!
