Any guesses? Well, I'm sure you all got this one right...weight. Ick. I even hate the word.
Sooooo, if you've ever had a c-section I think you understand when I say that c-section Mommies have a hard time losing the weight...at least in one particular area. I, unfortunately, am no different. And I'm starting to get really bothered by it.
It's true that I had a 5 week delay in getting any kind of weight loss regimen started since sitting at your son's bedside all day doesn't exactly burn calories (though, I think stress does). Then, when we got home, I couldn't really go anywhere for awhile. But now, there's no excuse.
Chris and I walk every night. I lift a 15lb baby alllllllll day. Why am I still stuck with the last 10 lbs?!?! AUGH.
So, I need your tips, tricks, ideas and jokes (after all, humor makes everything better, right?). I am determined to get these last 10lbs off (to clarify...ahem...make myself feel better...I will say that it's not the last 10lbs of baby weight per say it's also from fertility drugs).

I am right a long with you and I didn't have a c-section al though I did gain a whopping 65 lbs!!!!!! I have lost all but 10 lbs and my body definitly doesn't look like it used to but it was so worth it! But I wanna lose this weight too! I think tis even hard now to get into a routine to lose weight... Let me know if ya get any good tips!!
TheFirm workouts on DVD are AMAZING!! They will beat your tail, but it is so worth it and so fun! I always gain a bit of weight in the beginning because you do so much muscle work, but it evens out...I have always used these videos for weight loss. Love them!
I have had 2 c-sections in the last 2 years. The weight (50 pounds each time) came off faster the 2nd time cause I was chasing the first baby. About a month ago, I stopped buying any type of soda and we drink only water. If I need a treat, I let myself have a skinny cow ice cream sandwich. They are so good! This sounds crazy, but if you brush your teeth right after dinner, you are less likely to snack late at night. I also like the Wii Fit. My husband also dropped 11 pounds when I changed our eating habits.

10lbs isn't a lot, you can do it. I would get a jogging stroller and start jogging with Brayden. Start off slowly, walk when you need to, you'll build up a tolerance for it. Also, just watch your calorie intake. I think that there aren't any tricks or anything like that, lifestyle changes is the best way to make it happen.
You can do it!
i was in the same boat as you...i couldn't get all my baby weight off (and some fertility meds weight too). I started Jenny Craig at Easter & have lost 20 lbs. I am now about 15 lbs lighter than when I found out I was pregnant. It is a great diet if you dont' have a ton of weight to loose. A little expensive....but well worth it (to me anyway!!!)
I still have my last 10 lbs too and I have an 8 month old so I totally understand. I just bought Jillian's 30 day shred that Ive heard it great and bought 11 weeks at Weight Watchers!
I have had four c-sections,in five years.Totally know what you mean!I have made up my own exercise routine, that involves playing/lifting/chasing my kids.If you google tips on exercising with your baby, you may find some good tips, and then you are having a great time of play while working. What has firmed up my abs,lay on you back,on the floor, and do the "airplane" hold with baby on your legs, then do crunches,we play "peek a boo" this way,my son LOVES it,and I do that about five times a day,for about five minutes. It might sound silly, but it really works.I lost all my baby weight,45lbs and then some,in seven months. If you have stairs, hold baby on your hip,and go up and down, make sure you have good balance, but then do every two stairs, then every three, great for your legs!Good luck, you can do it!
Jenna I think you look great, I recently bought a cookbook called cook yourself thin and the food in it is pretty good. It shows you new healthier ways of preparing food you love.
Weight Watchers was great for me. I didn't go to meetings, I did all of the points counting on my own. I've only heard great things about the meetings though, it just wasn't in my budget. I'm pregnant now and not counting points but I will be counting again once baby is here. No food is off limits, it is all about portion control.
Keep in mind that even when you lose those last 10 pounds your body won't be lookin' the same. Chances are your husband will love it (though I am SURE he is happy with you now!!) and you will be like Wow, THIS is 1##?! I don't remember that being there. ;)
sparkpeople.com is a free and great website to help you lose those last 10 lbs you are working on. I also do the biggest loser dvds with Jillian Michaels. Drink water and lots of it!
I am right there with you. My babies are 13 months old now, and I still have 8 pounds to go. My goal was to lose 10 pounds starting in February by their 1st birthday in June. I didn't make it of course, I only lost 2 pounds. C-section tummy's are really hard to get flat again, especially mine since I had twins. They say carring multiples messes up your muscles, and then a c-section cuts right in the middle of them. That, I have found is sooooo true! Make sure you do a post when you find tips that help you. I have tried lots of different things but just don't see good results to keep me motivated.
I feel you for sure! I lost all my weight by the time Brody was 2 or 3 weeks old and now weigh less than I did when I got pregnant, but I have a big soft pooch from my c-section. It's awful! I have been doing a toning class at the gym 2 times a week. It's a hour class, but 30 minutes of it is abs. Then I run 3 miles, 3 days a week. I'm slowly toning back up but it is taking some serious time and work. Plus, I'm still nursing so I think that has caused me to keep my little pooch as well. I keep thinking as soon as I look "normal" again, it will be time to try for #2 and then it will start all over again. You look great girl!
I have 6lbs that are still with me, but a pooch that I don't want! I have started StrollerFit and I am so sore, which means I am working it. I like it because you can take the baby and not have to have someone else watch them. Today I am going to the MommyMuscle Restore the Core class which is part of StrollerFit and it hurts! Hopefully I'll have some abs soon! Good luck finding something that works for you!
Losing those last few pounds is hard. I gained 55 pounds with my pregnancy - I had so much fluid buid up the last 6 weeks that I had to be checked for blood clots. I thought that fluid would leave immediately after delivering, but I was wrong. Now I sit here 8 months later, and I have those last 6 pounds to lose. (+ maybe a few pounds from the infertility pills and stress that goes along with that) I am finding that getting into a normal workout routine has been best ... however, life isn't always "normal" with a baby. :) Good luck to you!
As others have mentioned, drink water. Tap water (that's all most bottled water is, anyway.)And flavor it with lemon juice, lime juice, or anything that strikes your fancy. Put ice in it. (You'll burn more calories as your body 'warms' the liquid up to body temp. along its path.)
"Diet" drinks, especially, are a no-no. They may not have the sugar, but they are loaded with other stuff that'll put on -or keep on- the weight. If you 'have' to have a soda, make it a regular one...and don't just pop the top and start drinking. Get out a nice glass, put in ice, pour the soda in, and then drink it. Fancy it up, for yourself.
When you make a plate for yourself, fill nearly half of it with lettuce - the other half with whatever everyone else is having. Put lemon juice and a splash of soy sauce on the lettuce instead of any calorie-filled dressing.
Remember, you do NOT want to eliminate fat OR sugar from your diet - your body craves/needs fat and needs/craves sugar. If you try to eliminate all fat (and sugar) you'll end up failing to lose those pounds. You just want to not go overboard with either the fat or sugar.
Everything in moderation...to include eating and drinking. Don't 'diet'; re-think what food is. It's a celebration! Break out the 'guest' china, break out the 'fancy' glasses, break out the 'good' silverware. Take time to think about what it is you are eating and/or drinking, and take time to enjoy it.
--- from one who followed the above and lost 20! pounds of lingering "baby fat" in 6 months without breaking a sweat. My "baby" just turned 30. ---
I had a c section....almost 3 yrs ago...and am just now in the last 10 weeks back at my "pre baby" weight! So your doing good!!!! And yes you are referring the the c section tummy as I so lovingly call it! All I can say it excersise...I know ick!!! And my trainer has put me on high protein to build the muscle back up...since they cut right through it!!! Good Luck to you!!

I've heard a weighted hula hoop works wonders! I haven't tried it yet but am in the process of finding one.
I am currently doing the Herbalife "Shake your Weight" diet. It's pretty awsome...I am wearing clothes I haven't wore in 5 years! It's a tea and protien shake diet...and believe it or not the shakes taste GREAT! I've lost 15 lbs and over 20 inches (total body) in about 2 months!!
Thanks for the comment! =)
Brayden is so precious! I had 2 c-sections, and feel like I have a permanent flap of skin that won't tone up, right above the scar.=P
I've had a hard time getting disciplined to lose my extra 10 pounds too. Dieting stinks!
AMEN SISTER! The c-section pooch is ridiculous! Thanks for this post. I got some good tips!
