Yesterday was my first 2 week checkup! Woo-Hoo! Everything was great and Brayden's heartbeat was 140. I asked if it was normal that it keeps dropping and he said it was, and that he is right where he should be! I'm still measuring a week ahead which is good - I guess. I don't actually know if that matters or not to be honest!
I have been having some pretty interesting pain and so I mentioned it to him and it turns out I am having "practice contractions" - not to be confused with Braxton Hicks. I didn't know there were two kinds but apparently there are! All is good; they are very irregular and not too painful.
(Edited to add: The difference between the two is that braxton hicks are like a hardening feeling and the ones that I am experiencing feel like period cramps...hope that explains it a little better!)
I just love my doctor - he has such a wonderful personality. Chris really likes him too which is great - he hated my last OB. Well, hate is a strong word but you get the idea. Anyway, at my last appt my doctor had gotten a new phone and I was showing him how to work it - and then two days later I got the same phone and this time he was offering me tips! Too funny. I don't know any other doctor like him, which explains why I want to do all I can to make sure he is the one to deliver Brayden!
Today I had a prenatal massage. Oh goodness, I should have done that weeks ago. It was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep. If you're pregnant I highly recommend it! And if you live in my area, I highly recommend getting it at Heavenly!

You will be holding little Brayden before you know it, Jenna! AWW! I bet you loved that massage! I got a back massage a few weeks ago and loved it!
I have never heard of practice contractions. Wow a massage would be heavenly!
I didn't know there were two kinds of contractions, either! I haven't read that!
I have a massage every week now and it is wonderful and necessary!
I am so glad that you have a great OB. It really does make the journey that much more enjoyable ;).
Also, I am a big advocate for massages. They help in so many ways!
Jenna, glad all is good with you & brayden! i have been experiencing some very irregular & slightly painful feeling too. my dr. told me it was normal...just our bodies getting us ready to meet our sweet babies!! I also got a pregnancy massage a couple of weeks ago. it was wonderful during the massage, but my lower back actually hurt worse in the days following! i hope that doesn't happen to you!!
